*editted* Sigma Cleansing Tool

Just a quick post. I received my Sigma Cleansing Tool on Thursday 16th June 2011. It was within the  delivery framework of 3-8 Days for USPS Express upon purchase.

The box came in like this with the USPS Express sticker and the Sigma Makeup sticker surrounding the box. I was SOOO excited when this came. The Singapore partner for USPS Express is Speedpost.

I was pleasantly surprised by the free brush they gave together with my purchase. I'll review about it in another post.

Sigma Cleasing Tool Packaging *editted* realized that the pictures were not rotated.

As you can see from the pictures above, the tool comes in this pink box which is designed to look abit retro and dated. (kind of like the 70s and 80s)

There is an instruction manual and the tool comes in this handy/hardy casing that is great for travel. I didn't like the cheap plastic inside. This can be better improved. It comes with 3 brushes, the entire pink one that is attached to the tool now is the delicate or a.k.a the soft brush. The two others with the increasing white bristles are the medium and hard brush. The brush will be later sold approx July 2011 and are not currently available at Sigma.com.

I have used the tool for 3 days now and I have not break out from it. I use ONLY the soft brush because I have very ubber sensitive skin and so far I LOVE IT. It doesn't make my skin super red after I wash my face unlike when I use my own hands. I also felt that it has made my skin feel softer and my makeup sits better after I start using this tool. This might also be due to the fact that I seldom exfoliate my skin because when I use my hands to do so I tend to overdo it and cause outbreaks. =(

At 39USD as compared to the Clarisonic which cost around 149USD, this is a GOOD cheap alternative. (Notice: Cheap alternative)

I will be getting Nic's Clarisonic from my dear good friend Daph who has kindly agreed (forced) to be "my personal buyer" during her recent holiday in NY. Thank you Daph. Till then, I cannot make any comparison btw the Sigma tool and Clarisonic.

But....I do believe that you do get what you pay for. (according to my brief encounter of the Clarisonic in  Sephora Singapore)

Firstly, the Clarisonic work on a sonication technology. The Sigma tool on some rotating exfoliation theory/basis. Because it rotates, it catches my hair sometimes and tangles it all up. REALLY annoying. I have learnt to work with this and not get my hair in the way. (Before I'll have to cut it all off when it jams the machine)

Secondly, Clarisonic is waterproof. The Sigma tool is only water resistance. I cannot really use it in the shower because it runs on AA batts which I was afraid will shock circuit or something O_O

Thirdly, Clarisonic comes with timer functions. The Sigma tool, like the Clarisonic, only has speed functions. Sigma's has 2 speeds.

Forthly, Clarisonic is QUIET. The Sigma tool....OMGNESS...rotates with this machine grinder sound. No comments about this. I think you get the idea.
Okay, as I have mentioned earlier, Sigma's does do its job well for 39USD. And it will be GREAT for travel. I don't have to bring along a charger and etc or worry about universal adapters.

I am glad to have purchased Sigma's cleansing tool. But....I will most probably STILL get the Clarisonic when I have the extra cash. =)

PS: Urban Decay Naked Palette is out at Sephora again (Last seen yst) Grab them fast. They do disappear quite quickly.

Excited much,
J
